Cocoa

At Mungu Asifiwe Farms, cocoa is the heart of our harvest. Grown in rich Ugandan soils and nurtured with care, our cocoa is sun-dried and handled naturally to preserve its quality and flavor. We work hand-in-hand with our local team to deliver excellence in every bean.

Ongoing Activities

Wages and Salaries

We continue to meet weekly and monthly wage bills for the farm to keep in shape, and grow to meet the projected expectations, especially during the bulk harvesting phase.

Pests Control

We’re using nano-tech organic fertilizer to control recent cocoa infections and other deficiencies with impressive results.

Shelter and Accommodation

We’ve constructed comfortable staff housing to improve the work environment for our growing team of full-time employees.

Training and Sensitization

We’re providing skills training to workers and nearby community members to ensure consistent quality and knowledge growth.

Recruitment

We’re hiring new management and technical personnel to bridge skills gaps and support our scale-up phase.

Research and Marketing

As output rises, we’re exploring better local pricing, value addition, and export strategies to scale profitably.

Future Activities

Irrigation

We've always relied on nature for rain water, but as the project has grown over time, it's now very risky not to have a reliable source of water during the dry seasons of the year.

Fencing and Security

We will be fencing all the farm sites to fight the theft of our cocoa and green bananas, as well as addressing any other security risks for both the workers and other properties.

Post Harvest Handling Facility

We want to put up a post-harvest processing facility with cocoa fermentation units, dryers and storage facilities, to meet standard procedures for better quality output.
